Event Materials
Event design creates connection. I design cohesive event materials—from participant t-shirts to gala invitations—that build excitement, drive attendance, reinforce purpose, and create lasting impact.

As lead designer and art director for Overlake’s annual Bandage Ball gala, I oversaw the creation and evolution of multi-year campaign identities that balanced warmth, elegance, and the hospital’s mission of compassionate care. My work included designing original key art for select years, art directing motion graphics, and expanding artwork into cohesive systems across print, digital, and event materials.
Over three years, I designed and art directed more than 60 pieces—from invitations, programs, and sponsorship packets to signage, social media assets, and motion graphics—creating a consistent donor experience from first impression through event night. The campaigns earned both an Aster Gold Award and a Healthcare Advertising Silver Award for special event promotion and contributed to more than $4 million raised to support lifesaving care.

United Way Events

The challenge:
Design scalable event-material systems for multiple annual gatherings and community events—each with different audiences and formats—while maintaining visual consistency within United Way’s brand.
My solution:
Over several years, I led design for 50+ print and digital assets per event, ranging from invitations and programs to apparel, web, and virtual materials. Using bold color, approachable typography, and clear storytelling, the system reinforced United Way’s message of community connection and shared impact. The refreshed event branding increased annual breakfast attendance by 400% and annual dinner participation by nearly 250%, strengthening community engagement and donor support.
Penn Cove Musselfest

Over eight consecutive years, I led design and art direction for Penn Cove Musselfest, a festival celebrating community, seafood, and the spirit of Coupeville, Washington. Each season introduced a new illustrated mermaid, evolving the campaign’s visual story while keeping it recognizable and beloved. The posters became collector’s items, and attendees began cosplaying as the mermaids themselves.
The brand system extended across posters, rack cards, postcards, signage, t-shirts, and digital displays on ferries, creating a unified and playful presence throughout the waterfront festival. This long-running collaboration demonstrates how consistent storytelling and visual iteration can turn an annual event into a lasting community tradition.
